1. Who we are
Purespace is operated as a sole trader based in the United Kingdom and is the data controller for the personal data you share with us. You can reach us at privacy@purespace.uk.
2. What we collect
- Account data: name, email address, password (hashed), phone number.
- Booking data: address, postcode, booking date, special instructions, cleaner chosen.
- Payment data: handled by Stripe — we never see your full card details, only a token and the last 4 digits.
- Cleaner application data: bio, photo, areas covered, insurance details, DBS certificate details.
- Communications: messages between you and a cleaner, and any support emails you send us.
- Technical data: IP address, browser, device type, basic analytics about how you use the site.
3. How we use it
- To run your bookings and share the necessary details with your chosen cleaner.
- To take payment and pay cleaners.
- To send transactional emails (booking confirmations, receipts, cancellations).
- To verify cleaners during onboarding.
- To respond to support requests and resolve disputes.
- To meet our legal obligations (e.g. tax, accounting, fraud prevention).
4. Legal bases
We rely on the following lawful bases under UK GDPR: contract (to deliver bookings you request), legitimate interests (to run, secure and improve the service), legal obligation (tax and accounting records) and consent (for any marketing emails — you can withdraw consent at any time).
5. Who we share data with
- Cleaners you book — they receive your name, address, contact details and booking notes.
- Stripe — to process payments and payouts.
- Resend / our email provider — to deliver transactional emails.
- Supabase — our hosting and database provider (data stored in the EU/UK).
- HMRC and other authorities — where we're legally required to.
6. How long we keep it
Account and booking data is kept while your account is active and for up to 6 years afterwards to meet UK tax and accounting obligations. Marketing preferences are kept until you withdraw consent.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your personal data, and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Email privacy@purespace.uk to exercise any of these rights. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
8. Cookies
See our Cookie Policy for details of the cookies we use.
9. Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), encrypted database storage, strong password hashing, and least-privilege access controls. No system is 100% secure, but we work hard to keep your data safe.
10. Changes
We'll post any updates to this page and notify you by email if the changes are material.
